Ushering in the Next Frontier of Quantum Innovation

This executive order directs a whole-of-government effort to accelerate the development, commercialization, and protection of quantum information science and technology (QIST). It requires the Assistant to the President for Science and Technology to update the National Quantum Strategy within 180 days, establishes the Quantum Computer for Application Development and Discovery Science (QC-ADDS) Effort, and directs the Secretaries of War, Commerce, and Energy and the Director of the National Science Foundation to develop plans on quantum sensing, supply chains, and workforce recruitment. It also directs the FBI Director to propose expanded counterintelligence staffing and the Secretaries of State and Commerce to align international engagements on market access, export controls, and technology protection.
