EO 14364
Addressing Security Risks from Price Fixing and Anti-Competitive Behavior in the Food Supply Chain
Summary
This EO directs the Attorney General and the Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission to each establish a Food Supply Chain Security Task Force to investigate whether anti-competitive behavior exists in U.S. food supply chains and whether foreign control of food-related industries is raising food costs or creating national or economic security threats. It directs them to remedy any anti-competitive behavior uncovered, including through enforcement actions, new regulatory proposals, and, for evidence of criminal collusion, criminal proceedings such as grand jury investigations. The Task Forces must jointly brief the Speaker of the House, the Senate Majority Leader, and the chairs of congressional committees of jurisdiction on their progress within 180 days and again within 365 days of the order.
