Summary

This EO directs the Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission to prioritize enforcement actions against sellers and manufacturers making false "Made in America" or similar American-origin claims, and directs the FTC to consider regulations providing that an online marketplace's failure to verify country-of-origin claims may constitute an unfair or deceptive act or practice. Agencies overseeing country-of-origin labeling shall consider regulations promoting voluntary labeling for U.S.-made products, and agencies overseeing government-wide acquisition contracts shall periodically verify American-origin claims, remove misrepresented products from procurement, and refer offending contractors or vendors to the Department of Justice for possible False Claims Act actions.
