Summary

This EO stablishes a national policy framework to promote U.S. dominance in artificial intelligence by minimizing state regulations, particularly those that hinder innovation or compel ideological bias in AI models. It directs the creation of a federal AI Litigation Task Force to challenge inconsistent state laws, restricts certain federal funding to states with onerous AI regulations, and initiates proceedings to potentially preempt conflicting state laws through federal standards. The order also calls for legislative recommendations to solidify a uniform federal approach, while preserving state authority over areas like child safety, infrastructure, and procurement.
