Summary

This proclamation exempts certain stationary sources identified in Annex I from compliance with the EPA's March 6, 2024 final rule, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants: Taconite Iron Ore Processing (Taconite Rule), for two years beyond each of the rule's compliance deadlines, invoking section 112(i)(4) of the Clean Air Act. During the extension, these facilities remain subject to the emissions and compliance obligations that applied before the Taconite Rule. The President determines that the technology to implement the rule is not commercially available and that the exemption serves national security interests.
