Unleashing American Commercial Fishing in the Atlantic

This proclamation revokes Proclamation 10287 (Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument), issued October 8, 2021, and directs that the monument be managed in accordance with Proclamation 10049 (Modifying the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument), issued June 5, 2020, which allows commercial fishing within the monument. The President finds that a commercial fishing prohibition is not necessary because the monument's objects are protected under existing federal laws, including the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, and provides that where Proclamation 10049 conflicts with Proclamation 9496, this proclamation and Proclamation 10049 govern.
